Available Positions

Compensation: $14-$15/hour

Duties to include:

  • Guarding swimming areas and observing swimmers to ensure safety;
  • May perform rescue duties as needed
  • Enforcing all safety rules and regulations within pool facilities
  • Assisting with cleaning duties and maintenance as required
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff.


Required certifications upon the first day of duties:
 First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED.

Candidates that pass a swimming test will be trained in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED. Nasco Lifeguard Certification.

*Must be at least 16 years old by June 20th of the current year*

This is a multi-phase hiring and training approach. The first phase involves interviewing and evaluating the candidates for continuation of lifeguard training and employment. You will be asked to pre-interview, complete an application, be given a swim evaluation, and receive an introduction to becoming a lifeguard and job responsibilities if hired.

The swimming evaluation includes:

  • 200-yard swim, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard breaststroke
  • 2-minute tread (with head & hands out of the water)
  • Feet First Surface Dive 5 pound brick retrieval from 6ft or deeper


Swimming Evaluations will be held:

June 10, 2022 | 11am-1pm

Compensation: $13/hour

Duties may include:

  • Checking season passes upon entry of the facilities
  • Collecting admission fees
  • Checking cash each day before opening and closing
  • Waiting on customers and handling requests
  • Making correct change
  • Maintaining a clean working and sitting area surrounding the admissions/concessions stands
  • Answering incoming phone calls
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff
  • Greeting park guests and hosts group events such as birthday parties, camp/school/corporate outings, family reunions and more
  • Performing a wide variety of customer service tasks in the operation of facility rentals to assure efficient, effective, safe and clean operation is provided in a manner that creates a favorable image of Wayne County Family Aquatic Center while assuring the highest level of guest services possible.
  • Attending each event and acting as coordinator are essential duties.

*Must be at least 16 years old*

Compensation: $13/hour

Duties to include:

  • Taking food and beverage orders
  • Preparing and execution of a simple concession menu as well as dish washing and cleaning
  • Following sanitary food policies
  • Adhere to kitchen, and company-wide safety policies and procedures
  • Strong communication skills required for interaction with staff and customers.

Compensation: $14/hour

Duties may include:

  • Maintaining general cleanliness and safe operations of the facilities
  • Stocking and shelving supplies as needed
  • Power-washing and cleaning of both interior and exterior areas of the facilities
  • Must be able to work early morning hours before pools open
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff

*Must be at least 16 years old*

Compensation: $15/hour

Duties to include:

  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors and staff by patrolling and monitoring the buildings and grounds
  • Providing outstanding customer experience to internal and external customers
  • Conducting personal bag inspections for guests
  • Enforcing company policies
  • Reporting potential building fire and safety code violations
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff
